Welcome to the Xiang Zhang Laboratory at Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center, Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). Our lab was established in 2011, and our long term goal is to elucidate biological mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of metastasis, the major threat to the lives of solid cancer patients.

Our research focuses on two general areas: breast cancer bone metastasis and tumor immunology. In both areas, we are interested in elucidating the interactions between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment with focus on the spatiotemporal co-evolution of various constituents of the tumor ecosystem and heterogeneity within and between different ecosystems.
